Archive connection failing with error “There was a problem connecting to the server” when performing connection test

This can be down to a number of factors, please check the items below and if the connection is still not successful log a support ticket and an archive engineer will assist.

  1. Firewall issue. Make sure your firewall is setup to accept connections on ports 143 and 993 from the following IP Addresses:

    1. 46.51.173.223
    2. 50.19.242.23
    3. 52.202.128.52

  2. Check the IMAP service on the exchange server is running

  3. Check IMAP Proxy is active. See steps in article to verify: http://www.haveyourebooted.com/imap-stops-working-on-exchange-2013-server/
